The Companion is a paraprofessional who provides non-medical support to clients in their homes under the supervision of a qualified supervisor. Responsibilities include offering companionship, assisting with routine activities, providing relief for family caregivers, and observing and reporting any changes in the client’s condition. Each Companion follows a written plan of care and is assigned based on the client’s needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one (1) year of related experience or comparable life/work experience
- Reliable transportation with valid liability insurance preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English; bilingual skills are a plus
- Demonstrates reliability, sound judgment, professionalism, and appropriate personal hygiene
- Must pass a criminal background check
Homemaker
The Homemaker is a paraprofessional who provides non-medical home maintenance support to clients under the supervision of a qualified supervisor. Responsibilities include assisting with household tasks, supporting basic dietary needs, and observing and reporting any changes in the client’s condition. Each Homemaker follows a written plan of service and is assigned based on the client’s specific needs.
Qualifications
- Completion of at least 20 hours of training within the first six months of employment, or equivalent experience of at least 40 hours providing homemaking services
- Reliable transportation with valid liability insurance preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
- At least one (1) year of work experience
- Must pass a criminal background check
Personal Care Worker
The Personal Care Worker provides hands-on assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a qualified professional. Responsibilities include supporting personal hygiene, assisting with feeding and dressing, and helping maintain a safe and clean living environment. Care is delivered according to an established plan and adjusted based on the client’s needs.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a state-approved training program or equivalent training in personal care skills
- At least one (1) year of work experience
- Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in English
